Inauguration of the Church of the Camps of the Diocese of Corfutranslated

In an atmosphere of emotion and joy, the Inauguration ceremony of the newly built Holy Church of Saints Demetrius and Nestor took place in the camps of the Holy Metropolis of Corfu in Kassiopi. The service was performed by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, while the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Bresthenes, Mr. Theoklitos, joined in the prayer. Many believers, as well as young children, camp executives, campers who participate in the camp programs every summer, participated in the liturgy. Also present were Mr. Stefanos Gikas, Deputy Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, and the Mayor of North Corfu, Mr. Giorgos Mahimaris.

Mr. Nektarios stopped at certain points of the service explaining to the people of God what was happening, while the celebration of the first divine liturgy in the consecrated holy table was also solemn.
