"We are not finished, now we begin." With this phrase-slogan, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Serres and Nigrite Mr. Theologos set the tone for the following day, commenting on the historic return of part of the sacred relics of the Church of Serres, which had been forcibly removed from Bulgaria during the stone years of the 1913, 1917 and 1942 wars. The devout people of Serres are waiting with great joy and relief to welcome this first sample of the treasures, which are returning to their natural place on the day of the feast of the Great Generals, on November 8, after 109 whole years. However, as His Eminence underlined, this long-awaited development is not the end of an effort, but its beginning.
