The Transfiguration of the Holy Veils of Saint Nektarios On Thursday, September 3, 2026, the Very Reverend Metropolitan of Kastoria, Archimandrite Callinicos, celebrated Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of Saint Nektarios, coinciding with the feast day of the Transfiguration of the Holy Veils of Saint Nektarios, Bishop of Pentapolis the Wonderworker.

Many clergy from the Holy Metropolitanate of Kastoria were present, while a multitude of faithful participated in the Divine Liturgy, coming to honor Saint Nektarios.

In his sermon, referring to Saint Nektarios, the Very Reverend read a letter of his to Elder Xenia, in which he delivered a discourse on the Epistle of Apostle Paul "For all who have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ." He emphasized particularly the fact that Saint Nektarios taught and shepherded Christians and nuns theologically.

After the Divine Liturgy, the Very Reverend blessed the prosphora in honor of Saint Nektarios.

Immediately thereafter, a holy procession with the icon and Holy Veils of Saint Nektarios took place around the Holy Church, with the participation of the clergy and faithful.
