Ordination and installation of an Elder in Velanidia, Laconia – The Protopresbyter was honored for his 35 years of ministrytranslated

On the main day of the feast of the Synagogue of Panagia Myrtidiotissa and the commemoration of the Kythira miracle of the healing of the paralytic, Thursday 24 September 2026, in the eponymous Holy Church in Velanidia of Voia, the solemn Orthro was first celebrated by the Theophilus Bishop of Lacedaemonia Mr. Theofilos and then the Biarchial Divine Liturgy presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Monemvasia and Sparta Mr. Efstathiou.

During the Divine Liturgy, the deacon Fr. Dimitrios Michaletos, who will also be the new vicar of Velanidis, was ordained as an Elder. Father Dimitrios is the son of the High Priestly Commissioner and vicar of Neapolis, His Eminence Protopresbyter Father Dionysios.
