Critical week for Sinai Monastery in view of the court decisiontranslated

The behind-the-scenes consultations for the tripartite Egypt-Greece-Sinai brotherhood agreement that will establish the future institutional and legal framework for the operation of the Monastery of Saint Catherine in Sinai are at their peak. In view of the imminent publication of the court decision of the Egyptian Supreme Court on October 24, the time period between October 14-22 is considered decisive and among those involved from the Greek side it is characterized as "devil's week". "After October 22 there is no room for an agreement", government sources categorically emphasize, while they do not hide their concern, as the prospects are reduced to zero and the case of a "wreck" becomes more and more visible.
They hope, however, that by October 14, Archbishop Sinai Simeon will have recovered to a large extent and will be able to participate in the proceedings, taking care of the brotherhood, which - according to the same sources - shows an image of "chaos", "disorientation" and "lack of willingness to cooperate".
