Timotheus of Thessaly: The "primordial beauty" and the example of Agia Marinatranslated

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Thessaly, Mr. Timotheus, on Friday July 17, 2026, the day on which our Church honors the memory of Saint Glorious Great Martyr Marinus of Thaumatourgos, officiated at the procession of Orthros and celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Chapel of Agia Marinus of Vathylakkos, with the participation of pious believers, who they came to honor the miraculous Saint and to participate in the devotional meeting of the day. Before the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, our Pastor addressed a speech of spiritual edification to the congregation, taking occasion from the memory of Agia Marina, to highlight the essential meaning of honoring the Saints in the life of the Church.
At the beginning of his speech, he emphasized that the celebration of the Saints is for Orthodox Christians a unique and special event, because it constantly reminds us of the presence of the Living God in our lives. The Saints are not figures of a distant past, but living testimonies of God's active presence in history and in the Church.
