On Sunday, October 25, 2026, His Eminence officiated at the Holy Church of God's Wisdom in Komotini and then led the memorial prayer for the repose of the blessed National Martyrs Clergy of the Holy Metropolis: 1. Priest Dimitriou Kavazis, Vicar of Krovyli, 24-04-1944

2. Priest Georgiou Voulgarakis, Parish Priest of Nea Adriani, 11-13-1944,

3. Priest Theodorou Papadopoulou, Priest of Aigirou, 06-22-1941 and

4. Priest Vagianni Emmanoulidis, Episcopalian of Sykorrachis, 25-06-1944.

Before the Dismissal, His Holiness in his speech praised the life, the work and the martyrdom of the honored National Martyrs Clergy, victims of the particularly cruel Bulgarian occupation of the years 1941 - 1944. He also emphasized that the self-sacrifice of our Ancestors, Clergy and Laity, during this difficult period, is a bright beacon and an infallible compass for all of us, even in troubled times when values and ideals are being questioned, thus contributing decisively to saving the traditions of our Faith and our Country.
