The Archbishop at the celebrations of Panagia Odegitria at Xenophon Monasterytranslated

The Most Reverend Archbishop of Thyatira and Great Britain, Mr. Nikitas, as the representative of His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Bartholomew, dean from October 16 to 18, 2026 of the celebrations of the Holy Patriarchal and Stavropigian Monastery of Xenophon of Mount Athos for the venerable and miraculous icon of Our Lady Odigetria. The celebrations culminated on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October and coincided this year with the completion of fifty years of abbotship of the Monastery's Professor, Panosiology Archimandrite Mr. Alexios.

The Archbishop arrived at the Monastery on Friday, October 16, together with the Most Reverend Elder Mr. Myroslav Pushkaruk, the Most Reverend Archdeacon Mr. Georgios Tsouros and a group of lay pilgrims from the Holy Archdiocese of Thyatira and Great Britain and from abroad. In the Catholic Church of the Monastery, he was received according to the canonical standard by the Archimandrite, Mr. Alexios, who addressed him with the official address and the welcome of the brotherhood. His Holiness demurred, expressing his gratitude and thanks for the hospitality.
