The Feast of the Great Taxiarchs in the Holy Metropolis of Corinthtranslated

The Very Reverend Metropolitan of Corinth, Metropolitan Pavel, celebrated the Panegyric Divine Liturgy in the historic Holy Chapel of the Great Taxiarchs of Assos, Corinth on Sunday, November 8, 2026. During the Divine Liturgy, the Minister of Development and Transport, Mr. Christos Dimas, the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Ms. Maria Elena Soukouli, the Mayor of Corinth, Mr. Nikolaos Stavrelis, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Ms. Athena Korka, the Deputy Minister of Education and Lifelong Learning, Mr. Anastasios Gialis, and the President of the Local Community of Assos, Mr. George Kontas, were present.

In his sermon, the Very Reverend referred to the power and protection of the Holy Archangels, emphasizing the importance of the presence of the guardian angel in the life of every believer. At the same time, he made special reference to the historic Chapel of the Taxiarchs of Assos and its connection to the spiritual life of the place. Taking the opportunity to mark the 200th anniversary of the Holy Chapel, he consecrated a new Holy Icon of the Great Taxiarchs according to the Typikon of our Church.
