The Ecumenical Patriarch performed the Tyranics of the Chapel of the Most Grand Commanders of the new Poorhousetranslated

Panagiotis, the Ecumenical Patriarch, etc. Bartholomew, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in the afternoon, performed the Consecration of the Tyrannicals of the newly built Holy Chapel of the Pantheon Brigades of the new Poorhouse of the City (Darülaceze, Arnavutköy), the construction of which was done at the expense of the charity foundation of the same name. His Holiness then officiated during the solemn Vespers. In his speech, His Holiness thanked and congratulated the leaders of the historic Foundation for their initiative and sensitivity to build this founding Church. He recalled that exactly the same thing happened at the end of the 19th century when the first complex of the Poorhouse was operational, where, following the initiative of the then Sultan, the Orthodox Church of Agios Georgios was erected on its premises, to serve the religious needs of its Orthodox residents, as well as a Synagogue and a Mosque.
