The Holy Provincial Synod of the Church of Crete expresses its deep sorrow for the devastating fires that hit Rethymnon and other areas of the country, with special reference to the human victims. In a statement, she notes that she participates "with deep pain and sadness" in the pain of those affected and prays for the repose of the five victims of the tragedy.
