The Ecumenical Patriarch thanked the Greek Government from Imbro. Bartholomew for the interest he shows for the community and the island as well as the Ecumenical Patriarchate. In fact, His Holiness - who today completed 65 years of Priesthood and in this anniversary context collaborated with the Primates of the Churches of Alexandria and Albania - announced that yesterday he had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in which he wished him well for the minor accident with his bicycle.
The Ecumenical Patriarch also revealed that Mr. Mitsotakis asked him to set aside a day from September next year – 2027 – in order to celebrate the sacrament of the Marriage of his son, Konstantinos Mitsotakis.
"Maybe if I have health. We'll see," said the Ecumenical Patriarch at the end of today's solemn Divine Liturgy from the Metropolitan Church of the Assumption in his hometown.
