Të premten, më 24 korrik, në vigjilje të Fjetjes së Shën Anës, Nënës së Shën Mërisë, Imzot Mitropoliti ynë z. Pastori ynë i nderuar, foli në mënyrë të përshtatshme para xhematit të mbushur me njerëz, iu referua Jetës së Shën Anës dhe i uroi vite të shumta e të bekuara turmës së besimtarëve të ardhur në festë. Ndër të tjera dhuratën e dha edhe kryetari i Bashkisë Minoas Pediados, z. Vasilis Kegeroglou.

The vespers at St. Anne's little church in Geraki sounded lovely. I always appreciate when the bishop speaks on the saint's life like that, especially since my girls and I just read about St. Anne together last week. Nice that the mayor came too.

The part about her years of barrenness and still trusting really hit home with my older son last time we read it together — he’s at that age where life feels slow sometimes. The bishop does make it feel so real, doesn’t he? Did your girls latch onto any one detail more than the rest?

Yes, the years of waiting and still trusting God really stay with you. My daughter mentioned the same thing last summer when we read it — she’s 14 now and said it made her think about her own prayers that feel unanswered. Did your son say anything else about it after?
