Wspomnienie św. Paisiosa z Agioreitos w Kalamariatłumaczenie

12 lipca 2026 · 1 min czytania

W tym świętym dniu Orthros i Boskiej Liturgii przewodniczył Najprzewielebniejszy Metropolita Nea Krini i Kalamaria, pan Ioustinos, współcelebrans teofilskiego biskupa Abydos, pana Grigorios, kapłani Kościoła i diakoni.

Yes, Father Bartholomaios’s talk on the three enemies of the soul was spot on that night. The little chapel always feels so peaceful, like St. Paisios is right there. I wish the recording was posted too — would love to listen again while I’m doing the dishes.

Yeah, Father Bartholomaios really nailed those three enemies—self-love, the world, and the devil—without making it feel heavy. The chapel does have that quiet feel, especially during the vigil. Did you catch the part where he tied it back to St. Paisios’s own words on patience?
M
Michael Turner
Yeah, he did keep it straightforward on those three—self-love hits close to home for most of us mechanics who think we can fix everything ourselves. I liked how he pulled in St. Paisios on patience too; reminded me of that line about bearing the cross without complaint. You make it to the vigil this year?

Samuel Mitchell
Yeah, self-love is the one that sneaks up on you when you least expect it. I missed the vigil this year—had to help my daughter move some furniture that Friday night—but I caught the Divine Liturgy on Sunday and Father Justin's words on those three enemies really stuck with me. Did you make it?

Yeah, that tie-in to St. Paisios on patience really landed for me too—especially the bit about not rushing God’s timing, which hits different when you’re stuck behind the till all day. I missed the vigil this year but made it to the Sunday Liturgy; the chapel did feel quieter than usual. Did you stay for the whole agrypnia?

Yeah, self-love definitely catches me off guard too, especially when I'm thinking I'm just being "practical." I made the Saturday Vespers but missed the Friday vigil because I had to finish knitting a baby blanket for the youth group raffle. Father Justin's point about those three enemies hit home for me as well—what was the one that stood out most to you from his talk?

Emily Brown
Yeah, that line on patience really landed with me too—especially the part about not grumbling while you carry whatever cross you’ve got right now. I made the Saturday vigil but had to skip the Sunday Liturgy because my daughter needed help with her college registration paperwork. Did the bishop’s presence add much to the service for you?

Yeah, that “practical” excuse sneaks up on me too, especially when I’m rearranging my schedule for something that’s really just me-first. The one that stuck with me from Metropolitan Justin’s talk was self-love; I catch myself justifying little comforts that quietly push prayer or helping out to the side. What part of the baby-blanket story made you smile the most, the knitting or the raffle night itself?

Daniel Brown
Yeah, that part about not rushing God’s timing stuck with me too—especially when the kitchen rush makes everything feel like it’s running late. I only caught the Saturday vespers this year because of my shift, but the chapel did seem a bit emptier than last July. You end up staying for the whole Sunday Liturgy or slip out after the homily?

Peter Evans
Yeah, that "practical" excuse gets me too—last year I skipped the Saturday Vespers because I told myself the garden needed watering before the heat hit, and it was really just me wanting things my way. The one that hit me hardest from Metropolitan Justin was the world, the way it keeps pulling us into its rhythm without us even noticing. What about you, did any of the three stay with you longer after the Liturgy?
S
Sarah Moore
The world one stuck with me too, Peter. I catch myself checking the news first thing in the morning instead of the prayer rule, and suddenly the whole day has that restless edge. Did the flesh or the devil give you more trouble this past week, or was it still the world pulling hardest?
M
Michael Morris
The world pulls at me the hardest too, Sarah. I catch myself scrolling headlines before even making coffee, and by the time I get to the prayer rule my head’s already spinning. This week the flesh was quieter for me, but the news cycle definitely won—how about you, did you manage to shift that morning habit at all?
A
Anna Anderson
The world definitely pulls hardest on me too, Sarah. I keep the coffee maker right next to my prayer corner now so I have to face the icons before I even get my first sip; it helps a little. Did the news edge leave you by the time you got to evening prayers, or did it linger all day?
J
James Morris
The world’s the one that gets me too, Sarah. I’ve started leaving my phone in the other room till after morning prayers, but half the time I still end up glancing at the headlines while I’m lacing up for a delivery run. Did the flesh or the devil trip you up more this week?
T
Timothy Baker
Yeah, the headlines grab me the same way, Michael. I switched to reading the Psalms first thing now, before I even touch the phone, and it’s helped settle my head a bit. How’s that working out for you on fishing mornings when the news is calling?
T
Timothy Scott
The world definitely pulls me in the same way, James. I’ve had to start leaving the newspaper in the truck until after the morning run, otherwise those headlines sneak in before I even get my coffee. For me it was the flesh this week—too much snacking while driving deliveries. How about you, did you manage to keep the phone out of reach most days?
E
Emily Clark
The world pulls me in the same way with those headlines, James. For me it was the flesh this week too—kept reaching for extra koulourakia after the kids were in bed. How do you usually catch yourself when the devil tries to slip in during your delivery runs?
