The celebrations for the 1080th anniversary of the Ascension of Saint John of Rila have been completedtranslated

With an overnight vigil, the festive two days, August 17 and 18, for the 1080th anniversary of the ascension of Saint John of Rila, in the Holy Monastery of the same name of the Bulgarian Patriarchate, began. Before the start of the vigil, the brotherhood and the numerous people who had come to the monastery welcomed the Miraculous Icon of Our Lady of Hawaii, which was crowned by His Beatitude the Patriarch of Bulgaria, Mr. Daniel.

The solemn vigil on Monday night was presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Argyrokastro, Mr. Nathanael, while the His Beatitude Patriarch of Bulgaria, Mr. Daniel, the Most Reverend Metropolitans of Great Turnovo Mr. Grigorios, Mr. Seraphim of Nevrokopi, the Theophilist Bishops of Adrianople Mr. Evlogios, Mr. Ioannis of Branitsa and Mr. Ierotheos of Agathoupolis.

From the morning of the feast, August 18, the courtyard of the Holy Monastery, as well as its Catholic, were full of believers who came to worship the Blessed Virgin Mary and the patron saint of the Bulgarian people, Saint John.
