The Day of Remembrance of the Macedonian Struggle was honored in the Municipality of Oriokastrotranslated

The Day of Remembrance of the Macedonian Struggle was celebrated yesterday in the Municipality of Oriokastro with events held in the morning in the Communities of the Municipal Units of Oriokastro, Kallithea and Mygdonia. Public and municipal buildings were decorated with flags, a Doxology and a memorial service were held in the holy churches in memory of those who fought for the freedom of Macedonia, and then wreaths were laid at the Heroes and Monuments of the Communities.

The mayor of Oreokastro, Pantelis Tsakiris, participated in the events held in Pentalofos, where the bust of the fighter of the Macedonian Struggle, Velika Traikos, is located.

In the morning, a doxology and then a memorial service for the fallen of the Macedonian Struggle was held in the Holy Church of the Dormition. This was followed by the speech of the day's celebration by Despina Vasmatzidou, teacher of Pentalofos Primary School. Immediately after, a memorial service was held at the Velika Traikou Memorial in the homonymous square opposite the school.
