SMYK Vellas at the Fighter's Monument in Kalpaki, Ioanninatranslated

On the occasion of the feast of the Agia Skepi of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as the national anniversary of October 28, the students of the School of Apprenticeship for Clerical Candidates (SMYK) Vellas attended the trisagion held by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ioannina Mr. Maximos, at the Monument to the Fighter of 1940, in Kalpaki Ioannina, where one of the most important pages of modern Greek history was written, with the historic Battle of Kalpakios. In front of the tomb, where the bones of those who heroically fell for Faith and Country are kept, the candidate clergy, dressed in the honorable cassock, sang during the trisagio, paying tribute to the memory of the heroes who sacrificed for the freedom of our country.
Accompanied by the Headmaster of the School, Fr. Thomas Andreou, as well as by Professor Fr. Athanasios Nikou, the students, with feelings of national pride and emotion, heard the names of the fallen during the memorial ceremony, honoring their sacrifice and contribution to the homeland.
Afterwards, the religious students returned to the Holy Monastery of Vellas, where they participated in the Great Vespers, spiritually preparing for tomorrow's great feast.
Tomorrow, with God,…
