Sanctification ceremony at the start of the restoration works of I.N. Agios Meletios Aigiostranslated

In an atmosphere of emotion and joy, the Consecration was performed by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kalavryta and Aegialia Mr. Ieronymos at the beginning of the restoration work of the Holy Church of Agios Meletios in the center of the city of Aigio, marking the beginning of an important effort to save, renovate and highlight a religious monument of special historical and spiritual value for the local Church. This private Chapel was built by the late Meletios Xygakis, ancestor of the Athanasios, Irini and Theonis Tsatsonis families, as well as Nikolaos Ragos, who, with feelings of responsibility, respect and love for our ecclesiastical tradition, proceeded to grant it to the Holy Metropolis, in order to ensure its maintenance and continuation of its functional presence in the life of the local community.

The Holy Metropolis, recognizing the historical and spiritual importance of the Holy Church, has already set up a Fundraising Committee for Erection and Restoration, with the aim of coordinating and supporting the required work, so that the Church can be restored and returned to the worship life of the local Church.
