HIERARCHY 2026: Pastoral solitude and priestly presence on the internet at the center of the second daytranslated

The Holy Synod of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece convened today, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in its second Regular Session, under the Presidency of His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Mr. Ieronymos, in the Conference Hall of the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy. After the prayer, the List of participating Hierarchs was read and a quorum was established. The Minutes of yesterday's Session were then ratified.

Then, according to the Agenda, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Syros, Tinos, Andros, Kea, Milos, Delos and Mykonos Mr. Dorotheos read his Introduction on the topic: "The pastoral care of loneliness and mental exhaustion in modern society".

In the Preface to his Introduction, His Holiness stated that it seeks to approach the phenomenon of loneliness and mental exhaustion in the light of Orthodox Theology and the pastoral tradition of our Church, looking for ways in which the church community can become a place of meeting, consolation, healing and hope for modern man.

He then structured his Introduction into three sections. In the first section under the title "Theological...
