Solemn Vespers for the Patron Saint of Naoussa, Saint Theophanes the Miracle Workertranslated

A Great Solemnity High Priestly Vespers was celebrated on Tuesday, August 18, in the afternoon, in the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Naoussa, where the miraculous Holy Icon of the Virgin "Pantanasis" is enshrined, on the occasion of the feast of the patron saint of the heroic and holy city, Saint Theophanos the Wonderworker. At the Solemn Vespers, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Berea, Naoussa and Campania, Mr. Panteleimon, officiated and preached the divine word.

After Vespers, the Holy Litany of the Holy Cara and the Holy Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary took place, with the participation of the local political and military authorities.

The ecclesiastical order was overseen by the General Hierarchal Commissioner of the Holy Metropolis and head of the Holy Church, Archimandrite Arsenios Chaldaiopoulos.

In his sermon, His Eminence Metropolitan Mr. Panteleimon referred to the choice of Saint Theophanous to dedicate his entire life to the search for "truly life", that is, true and eternal life close to God. He emphasized that earthly life is a temporary stage and called on the faithful not to cling to the ephemeral, but to strive for the acquisition of eternal goods.
