Vesper von Agia Kyriaki und Enthüllung des Denkmals für die Gefallenen in Pachia Ammos, Ierapetraübersetzt

Am Nachmittag des Montags, dem 6. Juli 2026, wurde die Große Hohepriestervesper des Festes des Heiligen Magalomartyros Kyriaki mit großer Pracht im feierlichen Südschiff der Heiligen Kirche Agios Christophers in Pachia Ammos, Ierapetra, gefeiert. Der Gottesdienst wurde von Rev. Metropolit von Ierapytni und Sitia, Herrn Kyrillos, geleitet, der die Brote segnete und das göttliche Wort predigte, wobei er sich kurz auf das Leben und Martyrium der heiligen Großmärtyrerin und Jungfrau Kyriaki im Alter von nur 21 Jahren bezog, aber auch auf Heiligkeit als Erfüllung des Gebotes Gottes „Seid heilig, denn ich bin heilig“. Er betonte auch, dass der heutige heilige Sonntag, das Leben, das Martyrium, die Stabilität im Glauben an Christus und sein Bekenntnis eine Antwort unserer Heiligen Kirche auf die moderne Gesellschaft sind, die sich ständig verändert und von den Werten und Idealen unserer Gesellschaft abweicht.

Abschließend dankte und gratulierte er sowohl der Präsidentin der Ortsgemeinde Pacheia Ammos, Frau Maria Kokkinaki, als auch dem Bürgermeister von Ierapetra, Herrn Emmanuel Fragoulis, und seinen Kollegen für den Bau und die Installation des neuen Denkmals für die Gefallenen im Hof der Heiligen Kirche von Agios Christophers und bemerkte...

The Vespers sounded beautiful, especially with Metropolitan Kyrillos preaching on St. Kyriaki’s courage at just 21. Nice to see the new war memorial finished right there in the church courtyard—thanks to Mayor Frangoulis and Mrs. Kokkinaki for making it happen.

Да, эти слова из Левита всегда как якорь. У нас в Ростове на приходе тоже часто напоминают, особенно когда молодёжь приходит. А мемориал у храма — верно, чтобы и память о павших, и святая Кириаки в одном месте были, рядом с живыми. Ты в такие пангири ездишь иногда?

I thought it was smart to put the memorial right there in the courtyard so people pass it every time they come for services. The artos was excellent that night; Maria from the philoptochos told me they used her grandmother’s recipe with extra anise.
