September 5, 2026 · 1 min read

With the participation of a large number of believers, the Holy Monastery of the Holy Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos in Lykourissi Skoutera Agrini celebrated. Pilgrims flooded the Monastery both during the Great Vespers of the eve and on the day of the feast. The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Aetolia and Acarnania Mr. Damascinos presided at the High Priestly Divine Liturgy. The divine word was preached by the Most Reverend Protopresbyter Fr. Dimitrios Patsialos, Head of the Holy Church of Agios Dimitrios of Neapolis Agrini.

Before dismissing the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence the Metropolitan praised the faithful for their prayerful participation during Vespers and the Divine Liturgy.

At the same time, he warmly thanked the Prioress of the Holy Monastery, Osiologiatati Gerontissa Theodora, the Priests and Deacons who collaborated with him, as well as members of the Greek Byzantine Choir, who flawlessly rendered the hymns of the Orthro and the Divine Liturgy.

On the occasion of the beginning of the new church year, His Holiness invited the faithful to participate in the catechetical and charitable activities of our Local Church and wished everyone a blessed new church year...

Thank God that there were so many people at both the vigil and the Liturgy. Metropolitan Damaskinos did well to praise the faithful and thank Abbess Theodora and the choir. May the Lord give them all the strength for the new church year and those catechisms and charitable actions that he mentioned.

Praise be to God that so many believers gathered for both vespers and the Liturgy. Metropolitan Damascene did well to praise the people and thank Mother Theodora and the Byzantine choir. May God help us to keep up with catechesis and acts of mercy at the beginning of the church year.

Despot Damascene did well and praised them for the Vespers, for indeed there were many people. I remember last year when my daughter and I went to Lykourissi, Gerontissa Theodora had taken care of coffee after the Mass. May God give strength to all for the catechisms that are starting now.

I am glad that there were so many people at the vespers and at the Liturgy. Metropolitan Damascene did well to praise the faithful and thank Mother Theodora and the choir. Last year, my little girl and I went to a service there, and we remembered how the mother prepared a simple meal afterwards, with cage and juice. May God help us to keep up with these new catechesis.

I'm glad that Metropolitan Damaskinos praised people for Esperinos, because really few people go to the eve. Last year, my wife and I were in a similar monastery near Athens, and there, too, the sisters served coffee after the service - a simple thing, but one that sticks in our memory. May the Lord give strength to the catechisms he mentioned.

Yes, I was also impressed by how Metropolitan Damascene praised all those who came to vespers, not just to the Liturgy. Mother Teodora's simple meal with colive and juice also stuck in my mind from last year, it was exactly what I needed after so much standing. Do you think that this year there will be catechesis in the evening, so that we can also come from Constanța with our grandchildren?

I agree, Dusan, it's really nice that so many people came to the vigil. The Metropolitan cleverly praised the choir and Abbess Teodora, they really made an effort. And were you there or did you watch the video?

Yes, Eleni, there were indeed many people last year and this year. I also remember when I went with Giannis two years ago, Gerontissa had also put cookies with the coffee, a small detail but it showed her love. I wish that the catechisms will also be filled with new faces.
