Church Music Sunday is celebrated in Octobertranslated

National Church Music Sunday will be celebrated on October 4, 2026 by the National Forum of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians. This annual celebration takes place on the first Sunday after the commemoration of St. Romanus the Melodious, patron of the Forum and church musicians, which is commemorated on October 1st. The relevant events continue throughout the month. Every year, the Holy Archdiocese of America dedicates this day to those who minister church music, thus recognizing and honoring their essential contribution.
The Forum invites parishes throughout the Holy Archdiocese to honor their musicians. For this purpose, it has special material available to priests, choir directors, community councils and local Philoptochus Brotherhoods. His website includes 21 ideas for celebratory activities, souvenirs available from the organization, prayers for church musicians, as well as additional educational material for church musicians, with special sections for youth as well.
The relevant material is available at…
