His gratitude to the Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomew both for the support to the Ukrainian people against the war that Russia is waging against them and for the granting of the Volume of Autocephaly to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the former President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, expresses with his post, on the occasion of today's 35th anniversary of the election of His Holiness to the Throne of Constantinople.  "All these years he carries the high cross of his patriarchal ministry with wisdom, humility and paternal love for the entire Orthodox world. And he always remains close to the Ukrainian people in these difficult times," he says.

"I remember with gratitude that His Holiness was the one who granted the Volume of Autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
