The fishermen of the settlement of Agia Paraskevi Kastello in Chios revived the arrival of their Asia Minor refugee ancestors in Chios by transporting the image of Agia Paraskevi in their fishing boats. After the Asia Minor disaster, the Saints of Asia Minor, who were mostly fishermen, at the risk of their lives and with the "weapon" of faith in God and the Motherland, managed to transfer to Chios many important ecclesiastical relics along with important documents and other objects of their community, thus saving the memory of Hellenism in Asia Minor.

The miraculous icon of Agia Paraskevi, which dates back to the 17th century, was transported as it was then on a fishing boat across the sea to the port of Agia Paraskevi, awakening memories of the unforgettable homelands.
