On the evening of Sunday, September 6, 2026, the day of commemoration of the miracle of Taxiarchus Michael in Chisnai, the I. Panormitou Monastery, with the blessing of Rev. Our Pastor, Metropolitan of Symi, Mr. Chrysostomos, with the contribution of the Municipality of Symi and the Symi Women's Union, carried out with great success and the participation of athletes the road race, from Symi to Panormitis, with the distinctive name "Road of Sacrifice 2026". As is well known, this is an event of honor dedicated to the sacred memory of the three martyrs heroes of the Monastery, the Abbot of the Monastery Archimandrite Chrysanthous Maroulakis, the Steward of the Monastery Michael Lambros and the Sergeant Radio Operator of the Hellenic Army Floros Zouganelis, who died faith and country from the barbaric weapons of the Italo-German conquerors, on February 11, 1944.
