His emotion was expressed by the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, Mr. Ieronymos during the unveiling ceremony of a commemorative plaque in memory of the blessed Archpriest of the Holy Church of Zoodochos Pigis, Fr. Angelos Nisiotis. The ceremony took place yesterday afternoon at the Holy Church of Zoodochos Pigis and was attended by, among others, the Mayor of Athens, Mr. Haris Doukas, the Deputy Regional Governor of the Central Sector of Athens, Mr. Georgios Vlachos, clergy and laity.
At the beginning of the event, the Choir of the School of Byzantine Music of the Holy Church of Zoodochos Pigi, under the direction of professor Mr. Angelos Sotos, performed the Megalynarium "Axion Estin" and the Apolytikio of Zoodochos Pigi.
Afterwards, the Proto-Secretary of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, Bishop of Christoupolis Mr. Varnavas, performed a memorial service.
The Protopresbyter and Head of the Church, Fr. Ilias Drosinos, spoke first about the personality and multifaceted contribution of the Blessed Father Angelos, while afterwards the Mayor of Athens, Mr. Haris Doukas, addressed a short greeting.
