American intervention in favor of the free access of Patriarch Porphyrios to the pilgrimages of Kosovotranslated

The unimpeded access of the Patriarch of Serbia Mr. Porphyrios to the Holy Monastery of Pecs, the historic first chair of the Patriarchate of Serbia, to the Holy Monastery of Visoki Detsani and to the rest of the Orthodox holy pilgrimages of Kosovo was requested from the authorities of Pristina by Pastor Dr. Mark Burns, adviser on spiritual matters to the President of the United States Donald Trump. The American pastor, who recently visited Serbia, Kosovo and the Republika Srpska of Bosnia together with the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church, underlined that the Patriarch Mr. Porphyrios should not face entry bans or administrative obstacles in the exercise of his pastoral duties.

He made special reference to the existing obligation to notify the competent authorities of the visit of the Patriarch 72 hours in advance, requesting the review and abolition of this specific measure.
