The feast of Saint George of Karslides in Makabako, Tanzaniatranslated

The memory of Saint George of Karslides was celebrated with simplicity on Wednesday, November 4, in the Holy Church of the same name in Makabako, Tanzania, in the Holy Metropolis of Arusha. With the blessing of the Venerable Metropolitan of Arousa, Mr. Agathonikos, the solemn Divine Liturgy was celebrated, in which the faithful of the region gathered reverently, to honor their Saint and patron. The Holy Church of Agios Georgios is the only Holy Church in the wider area and a point of reference for the local Orthodox community. Makambako, in southern Tanzania, is one of the new mission areas in which God's providence has called the local Church to minister, carrying the light of the Gospel and the message of Christ's love.

Orthodoxy in the region is beginning to develop and gain more solid foundations. Next to the first core of Orthodox believers, young people show interest in the Orthodox faith and come to catechism, wishing to get to know the Church. This is a hopeful message, as the seed of the Gospel finds fertile ground and begins to bear fruit.
