Foreign Minister for the Day of National Remembrance of the Genocide of the Greeks of Asia Minor: "History is not written off or falsified"translated

Greece commemorates today, September 14, the day of national remembrance of the Genocide of the Greeks of Asia Minor, recognized by the Hellenic Parliament. "Asia Minor Hellenism was violently uprooted from its ancestral homes, after a presence of centuries, with a tragic climax in the Destruction of Smyrna in September 1922", adds the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its announcement for the anniversary day.

"The preservation of historical memory is a debt to those who were lost or displaced, as well as to future generations. History is not written off or falsified", concludes the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
