The Patriarchate of Bulgaria invited the Ecumenical Patriarch to Bulgariatranslated

During its regular meeting on June 26, 2026, the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church decided to invite the Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomew in Bulgaria to participate in the celebrations that will take place during the period 16-20 October this year, on the occasion of the 1150th anniversary of the birth and the 1080th anniversary of the ascension of Saint John of Rila. A special ecclesiastical delegation, led by the Most Reverend Metropolitan Rousse Mr. Naoum, the Theophilus Bishop of Melenikos Mr. Gerasimos and Dr. Alexander Smochevski, visited the city of Constantinople, where he met with His Holiness and conveyed the invitation and greetings of the Patriarch of Bulgaria, Mr. Daniel and the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The meeting took place at the Holy Church of Agia Kyriaki Kontoskali, where a solemn Divine Liturgy was celebrated on the occasion of the feast of Agia Kyriaki.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew addressed the delegates of the Patriarchate of Bulgaria.
