The first high-priestly Divine Liturgy of the Bishop of Andidos Isidoros in the historical Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Plakatranslated

With the canonical permission and solemn blessing of the Blessed Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, the Theophilous Bishop of Andidos, Mr. Isidoros, performed his first high-priestly Divine Liturgy at the historic Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Plaka. The emotion was evident, as this was the first high-priestly service performed by the new Bishop, and indeed in the same church where he grew up and served as a Deacon, Elder and Superior. Despite the heat, a large number of parishioners, friends and believers flooded the church to wish him, while almost the entire congregation attended Holy Communion. Among the faithful who honored the Eucharistic Synagogue with their presence were the Deputy Governor of Athens Mr. Giorgos Vlachos, the family of the late professor of ancient Greek philosophy Pavlos Kalligas - for whom a memorial service was held - as well as university teachers and members of the Corfu Associations.

In his homily, the Bishop expressed his lifelong gratitude to the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Bartholomew for his ordination and the honor of serving as Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, as well as to Archbishop Hieronymos, from whom he received...
