The Holy Forerunner's Birthday was solemnly celebrated - according to the old calendar - at the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. The focus of the celebrations was the Mountain Holy Monastery of the Moscow Patriarchate, where the representative of the Patriarch of Jerusalem, Mr. Theophilou, Rev. Metropolitan of Capitoliad Mr. Hesychios as well as the Holy Monastery of the Holy Forerunner of the Zionist Church in the celebration of which Rev. Archbishop of Pelli Mr. Filoumenos.

On Tuesday, June 24/July 7, 2026, the Church commemorated the Birthday of the Holy Glorious Forerunner and Baptist John.
During this feast, the whole Church, especially that of Jerusalem, remembers and experiences what is mentioned about the Holy Forerunner by the Evangelist Luke (ch. 1-80), that is, about his Birth by the prophet Zacharios and Elizabeth, barren of being and about the speechlessness of his Father and the solution of the speechlessness, when they wrote that "his name is John" (Luke 1,63).
