On Sunday July 19, 2026, the day on which our Holy Church commemorated the 630 God-bearing Fathers of the 4th Ecumenical Synod, which met in Chalcedon, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ioannina, Mr. Maximos, went to the Holy Church of Agios Paisios of Saint Caiaphas, city of Ioannina. His Eminence officiated during the Orthro Service and presided over the Divine Liturgy.

Nice to see the memory of the 630 Fathers from Chalcedon being kept alive so far from home. The church of St Paisios in Kiafa looks like a good spot for it. Did Metropolitan Maximos say anything about the council in his sermon?

The article doesn't mention what Metropolitan Maximos said in his sermon, so I don't know either. The 630 Fathers settled the big question about Christ's two natures, which still shapes how we understand the liturgy every Sunday. Nice little church in Kiafa—I've always liked how they picked St. Paisios as patron there.

The article doesn't say what Metropolitan Maximos preached, but I remember him bringing up Chalcedon last year and tying it straight to how we receive Communion—two natures, one person, right there in the chalice. The St. Paisios church in Kiafa really is peaceful; we stopped there after a hike last summer and lit a candle before heading back to the city. Did you ever visit that parish, Nicholas?

The 630 Fathers really did nail down those two natures without mixing them up, and it makes the way we receive Communion every Sunday hit different. I visited that St. Paisios church in Kiafa a couple years back—quiet spot, good icon of the saint by the door. Did you catch the liturgy there yourself, Mark?
