The Holy Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Lachanas is celebratingtranslated

In view of the Mother of God feast of the Dormition of the Virgin, the eponymous Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Lachana announces the program of the festival. The celebration will begin on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 7:15 p.m., with the celebration of the Great Vespers after baking and the Epitaph of the Virgin Mary. It will be followed by a divine sermon and procession of the holy icon of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary and the Epitaph of the Virgin Mary in the central streets of the parish. After the end of the litany, the established fasting treat will take place.

On the main day of the feast, Saturday 15 August 2026, the Solemn Orthros and the Solemn Divine Liturgy will be celebrated from 07:30 to 10:45, after the divine sermon.

In the afternoon of the same day, from 20:00 to 20:45, a Canon's Petition to the Virgin Mary will be held.

The Holy Church and the Ecclesiastical Council invite the faithful to participate in the celebration and to honor with their presence and prayer the great Mother of God feast of the Assumption of the Virgin.
