The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Philippi, Mr. Nikolaos, was visited on Saturday, October 10, by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mrs. Iliana Yotova, and the candidate for Vice-President, Mr. Kirill Valtsev. The official meeting took place in the reception hall of the new Metropolitan Palace.

His Holiness blessed Ms. Yotova and Mr. Valchev and presented them with the Holy Bible and icons of Christ the Savior and the Holy Mother of God, wishing God's help and great zeal in their service to the people.

Together with the Metropolitan, the chosen guests were welcomed by: the Most Reverend Bishops Belograntsik Mr. Polykarpos and Smolian and Vissarion, vicars of the Metropolis, Archimandrite Fr. Philippoulis, the Archimandrite Fr. Petros - cleric of the Metropolis and the ruler of the Philippopolis Metropolis, Mr. Georgi Gergov.
