Patriarch Cyril of Hierapolis and Sittia: Sincerely Following Christ with Simplicitypřeloženo

On Sunday I, Luke, 27 September 2026, Most Reverend Metropolitan Cyril of Hierapolis and Sittia celebrated the Divine Liturgy in procession after Matins and subsequently served and preached the holy Gospel at the local church Panagia Eleousas in Hierapolis. Immediately after the Gospel reading, Most Reverend Metropolitan Cyril spoke with simplicity and clarity about the messages of the Gospel passage of the miraculous fishing on Lake Genesaret, where our Lord Jesus Christ told Simon, later Apostle Peter, to go out into deep waters and cast his nets for fish. As a result, both boats were filled with fish at a point that could have sunk them, so Jesus told him not to be afraid, as from now on he would be fishing for people.

The Most Venerable highlighted two great truths of the Gospel passage: first, that our Lord Jesus Christ is omniscient; second, that we must listen to God's Word and respond to His will according to the answer of Apostle Peter "According to your word I cast the net."
