The Feast of Agios Timotheus Bishop Proikonisos in Nea Palatia - Oropoutranslated

With particular splendor the local church of the New Palaces - Skalas Oropou celebrated the feast of our holy father Timotheus Bishop Proikonisos. At the center of the celebrations was the eponymous parish chapel, belonging to the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos Agios Georgios Neo Palatia Skala Oropou. In this community live many pious Asia Minors from the island of Proikonisos, who, together with the subscriptions of many pious believers as well as the Holy Monastery of Parakletos Oropos, contributed to the construction of the holy temple.

On the eve of the feast of July 31, the High Priestly Vespers service of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kifissia, Amarousi, Oropos and Marathon Mr. Kyrillos was held, who was flanked by priests from the province of Oropos.

The divine word was preached by the High Priestly Commissioner of Metamorphosis - Pefkis Panos. Chief Efstratios Delatolas, who referred to the church tradition of the Feast of the Advancement of the Holy Cross, which marks the beginning of the fasting of the Fifteenth of August, to strengthen the faithful in their spiritual journey.
