From the 9th to the 11th of October, His Eminence the Metropolitan of Berea, Naoussa and Campania, Mr. Panteleimon, paid a visit to the great martyr island of Cyprus and specifically to the ecclesiastical province of the Holy Metropolis of Trimythoudos, responding to the noble invitation of the relevant Pastor, His Eminence Metropolitan of Trimythoudos, Mr. Varnavas. The reason for the visit was the joyful and historic event of the inauguration of the Holy Church of Panagia Soumela in the community of Alethrikos, a church dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the patroness and regent of the unforgettable Pontus, who is a timeless symbol of faith, hope and spiritual unity of Pontic Hellenism everywhere.

The presence of the Venerable Metropolitan Mr. Panteleimonos in these brilliant church events had special symbolism, as it is inextricably linked with the history of the erected Holy Church.
