Many people are suffering there, may this help reach them and not get lost somewhere along the way.

A lot of choirs suffer, it’s clear. The very thing is that you need help, but don’t go away to the job council for mediation, but rather reach out to the choir in the village and town.

It is true that many are suffering. But as always, we must first pray that this aid actually reaches the people who need it most, and not the pockets of middlemen.

I hope it reaches the people, Georgi. Last year our parish collected blankets and medicines, but then we heard that some of the shipments were delayed for months at the borders. Have you seen anything like this with help from the Red Cross?

Петро Мороз
Yes, many are suffering, that's for sure. Last year, our parish also sent warm things and food through the World Council of Churches, but half arrived only in February. Who knows, maybe this time they will control it better so that it doesn't get stuck at the border.

Mary, I completely agree with you that prayer should come first. My daughter helped a small party last year that went directly to the villages, and really only reached the people who lived there. That's why it's good if someone knows which organizations work transparently.

Mary says rightly, she needs to pray first. My sister's family sent several boxes of medicine directly to a monastery near Odessa last month, and they said that everything reached the victims. Do you know of a specific name that works so directly?
ვახტანგ კაპანაძე
Tamar, it's good that sister's family sent medicine directly to the monastery and it arrived. My electrician brother worked in Odessa last year and he said that these short, direct routes often get you there faster. I don't have a specific name, but the monasteries there often deliver the victims themselves.
ქეთევან ლომიძე
Mary, you are absolutely right about prayer. I read an account last spring of a small church group that went directly to villages near Lviv and delivered food by hand. Do you know of any such organization that works so easily?

I agree, Georgy, intermediaries everywhere strive to pinch off their own. Here in Yaroslavl, when we were collecting things for refugees in 1922, we specifically passed them on directly through familiar priests in the border area so that it would reach people. Do you think it’s possible to somehow check where exactly the help from the World Council will go?
Н
Николай Петков
Yes, Georgi, and I hope it reaches people right. Last week I heard from a driver I know who drives humanitarian aid that sometimes the allocation of space is quite messy. Do you think the churches there have a better handle on this?

Yes, Peter, blankets and canned goods were sent to us last year through the World Council of Churches, but everything did not arrive until March. Maybe this time we should add one of our guys to accompany us at the border so we don't get stuck again. What parish did you send to?
ლელა ჯავახიშვილი
Vakhtang, that's right, the direct way often works faster. That's why my sister's family chose the monastery, so that everything goes straight and doesn't waste time. What months was your brother in Odessa, in winter?
П
Петя Костова
I hope this help arrives faster, Krasimira. Last year, our parish sent food and clothes, and then we heard that some of the things got stuck at the Polish border. Do you know if the Red Cross still has such supply problems?
ქეთევან ლომიძე
Maria, it's good that the sister's family sent her directly to the monastery and she arrived. My neighbor was volunteering in Odesa in the spring and said that it is better to send small boxes, because big loads sometimes get stuck. I don't know the specific name, but the monasteries there are often asked for help.
ანა კაპანაძე
Maria, you're right, small groups like this often get to where they need to go faster. I remembered that a friend from our church told us about a similar initiative, which directly delivered bread and medicine by hand to villages near Lviv. Do you know the name of the group you read?
ვახტანგ ჯავახიშვილი
You are right, Ketevan, small groups often achieve faster. Last year, a boy from Telavi went to volunteer, and he carried bread and food by hand to the villages near Lviv. Was there any name or church mentioned in the report you read?
ნიკოლოზ გელაშვილი
You're right, Ketevan, small groups often achieve faster and spend less bureaucracy. I was in the mountains last summer and a monk there told us that his friends brought bread and food by hand to the villages near Lviv, but I don't remember the name. Was there any specific place or name mentioned in the report you read?
