Piraeus Seraphim: "We honor persons of the present and the future"translated

The Holy Church of Evangelistria Piraeus, in the eponymous Parish Chapel, honored the solemn memory of Saint Olga the Apostle of Vasilissa. On Friday, July 10, the eve of the holiday, the Great Solemn Vespers was held, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Piraeus, Mr. Seraphim.

On Saturday July 11, the day of the feast, Orthros was celebrated and then the Divine Liturgy, while in the afternoon the services of Vespers and the Holy Prayer were celebrated.

The Chapel of Agia Olga has been rebuilt among the apartment buildings and the work of its construction began in October 1997 with the blessings of the blessed Metropolitan Fr. Piraeus Mr. Kallinikos and the tireless efforts of the Superior of the Holy Church of Evangelistria, blessed Protopresbyter Fr. Marinos Georgakopoulos and his collaborators.

The Church was built on a plot of land donated by the late brothers Nikolaos and Ioannas Tjortzis. The opening ceremony was performed by the Metropolitan Fr. Piraeus Mr. Kallinikos on October 7, 2000 while the inauguration was performed by Rev. Metropolitan of Piraeus Mr. Seraphim on October 27, 2012.

Χαίρομαι που θυμήθηκαν το δώρο των αδερφών Τζώρτζη και τις προσπάθειες του π. Μαρίνου. Το παρεκκλήσιο αυτό το βλέπω ανάμεσα στις πολυκατοικίες κάθε φορά που περνάω από τον Πειραιά και πάντα μου δίνει χαρά. Ο Σεραφείμ μίλησε για πρόσωπα του παρόντος και του μέλλοντος, αυτό μου έμεινε.

Так, добре, що згадали дар Тзордзі і труди отця Мариноса. Я теж бачив це маленьке каплице між будинками, коли бував у Піреї, — скромне, але стоїть міцно. А слова владики Серафима про людей сьогодення і майбутнього справді варті того, щоб їх обдумати.

Рада, что упомянули дар братьев Тзордзи и труды отца Мариноса — без таких людей ничего бы не стояло. Каждый раз, когда вижу это маленькое скромное здание между многоэтажками, думаю, как важно было начать стройку ещё в 1997-м. Το βλέπω κι εγώ αυτό το μικρό παρεκκλήσιο σφηνωμένο ανάμεσα στις πολυκατοικίες όταν πηγαίνω Πειραιά και πάντα μου φαίνεται θαύμα που στέκει εκεί. Sí, me alegra que mencionen el terreno que regalaron los hermanos Tzortzi y el trabajo del padre Marinos desde el 97. Ese pequeño parroquialito metido entre los bloques de pisos siempre me llama la atención cuando paso por El Pireo, parece imposible que quepa ahí y sin embargo sigue firme. El sermón del metropolita Serafim sobre honrar a las personas del presente y del futuro me dejó pensando, porque al final todo lo que hacemos es para quienes vienen después.
