Grief at the funeral of the 9 witnesses of the terrorist attack in Jordan - Patriarch Theophilos stands by the side of the woundedtranslated

Jordan remains shocked by the terrorist attack on the Greek Orthodox Church of Agios Georgios in the village of Hmoud in the district of Karak (Kyriakoupoli), which resulted in the death of nine people and dozens of injuries, with the Christian world condemning the action.  In an atmosphere of sorrow, the Exodus Mass was held at noon on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the Holy Church which became a place of martyrdom for the nine martyred believers of the Orthodox community.

The service was presided over by the Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Excellency. Theophilos flanked by Agiotaphite High Priests and fathers. The Latin Patriarch, Pierbattista Pizzaballa, representatives of denominations and confessions, a large number of people were also present while this event was covered by dozens of foreign media as this heinous act of terrorism has caused global interest with leaders of countries condemning it.
