The Ecumenical Patriarch at Panagia Vlacherna, 1400 years after the first chanting of the Akathistos Hymntranslated

On the historical commemoration of the chanting of the Akathistos Hymn, on August 7, 626, His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch k.c. Bartholomew will go with the rest of His retinue and will preside over the Divine Liturgy at the above Holy Agiasma on the morning of Friday, August 7, 2026, on the 1400th anniversary of the above holy event.

A festive reception will follow.

I am glad that the Patriarch will go to Blachernon exactly on the day of the 1400th anniversary. 626 was a great moment for the City. I hope I can find a way to watch it from here, at least online.
