"Dimitria 2026" – 20th day with Fr. Artemios Grigoriatis: "Ministry in the church and in life"translated

The parish festivities "DIMITRIA 2026" continued on Friday, October 16, 2026, for the 20th day at the Holy Church of Agios Dimitrios, Municipality of Agios Dimitrios. According to the program, there was a speech by the Panosiology Archimandrite Father Artemios, from the Holy Monastery of Gregory of Mount Athos, who developed the theme: "Ministry in the church and in life". The speaker, unfolding the deep meaning of "ministry", pointed out that this term, although very common in the field of Orthodoxy, remains less familiar in our everyday life: "In our Church the concept of ministry took on a greater extent. Ministry means an act of selfless love and sacrifice." He then referred to the words of the Lord who set the ultimate example by overturning worldly patterns of authority: "Whoever wants to be great among you must become a servant and a minister."

Afterwards, Father Artemios analyzed the pastoral work as a work of ministry, which Saint Gregory the Theologian calls "the art of arts and the science of sciences", as it aims at the salvation of man.
