Metropolis of Nafpaktos: Feast of the Holy Bishops and arrival of the Holy Relic of Saint Polycarptranslated

The Synod of the Holy Bishops of Nafpaktos is celebrated every year on the Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the Fourth Ecumenical Synod, by decision of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, following a proposal by the Metropolitan of Nafpaktos, Mr. Ierotheos. Together with the holy Bishops of Nafpaktos who participated in Ecumenical and Great Synods, the holy hieromartyr Polykarpos, patron of the Metropolis, was celebrated with the arrival of the Holy Relic of the Saint from the Holy Monastery of Panagia Ambelakiotissa.

The Most Reverend Metropolitans: Mr. Polykarpos of Italy and Mr. Kallinikos of Kastoria participated in the holy feast of the Saints, invited by the familiar Pastor Mr. Ierotheos.

Reception of Holy Relics and Polyhieratic Vespers On Saturday afternoon, July 18, 2026, the reception of the Holy Relic of Saint Polycarp took place, in front of the Town Hall of Nafpaktos, with the dignitaries of the reception being the Reverend Metropolitans, the Priests and Deacons, the Mayor of Nafpaktia Mr. Vasilios Giza, representatives of the political and Police authorities and many believers who revere the Patron of Mountain Nafpaktia, Saint Polykarpo.

Mă bucur că a venit iar Lemnul Sfântului Policarp de la Ambelakiotissa, anul ăsta chiar în faţa primăriei. Mi-a plăcut că au fost şi Mitropolitul Italiei cu acelaşi nume şi episcopul din Kastoria – parcă s-a simţit mai strâns legătura cu protectorul nostru. Slavă lui Dumnezeu pentru o astfel de sărbătoare în Naupactus.

Χαίρομαι που φέτος έφεραν το Λείψανο μπροστά στο Δημαρχείο, έτσι το είδαν και περισσότεροι Ναυπακτιώτες. Καλό που ήρθε και ο Μητροπολίτης Ιταλίας με το όνομα Πολύκαρπος, δίνει μια ιδιαίτερη χαρά. Δόξα τω Θεώ.

Ναι, συμφωνώ, η υποδοχή στο Δημαρχείο ήταν καλή ιδέα, είδα και εγώ κόσμο που δεν πήγαινε συνήθως στην εκκλησία να σταματάει και να προσκυνάει. Το όνομα του Μητροπολίτη Ιταλίας όντως έδωσε μια ιδιαίτερη νότα. Ελπίζω του χρόνου να είναι πάλι τόσο κόσμος.

Ναι, η ιδέα με το Δημαρχείο έβγαλε κόσμο που αλλιώς δεν θα πλησίαζε. Εγώ πρόσεξα ιδιαίτερα τον Μητροπολίτη Πολύκαρπο, που μίλησε απλά και ζεστά σαν να τον ήξερε από παλιά ο κόσμος. Εσύ πήγες και στον Εσπερινό μετά;

Ναι, συμφωνώ, το Δημαρχείο ήταν καλή ιδέα, έφερε και κόσμο από τα μαγαζιά γύρω. Ο Μητροπολίτης Πολύκαρπος όντως μίλησε πολύ απλά, σαν να ήταν από την περιοχή. Δεν πρόλαβα τον Εσπερινό, είχα το παιδί στο μάθημα μουσικής, πήγες εσύ;

Ναι, η υποδοχή στο Δημαρχείο τράβηξε πράγματι κόσμο που συνήθως μένει μακριά. Εγώ πρόσεξα πόσο ήσυχα περίμεναν στην ουρά να προσκυνήσουν, σαν να ήταν κάτι καθημερινό. Πήγες και εσύ στον Εσπερινό μετά;
