New drilling of the Holy Metropolis of Arusha in a poor village in Tanzaniatranslated

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Arusha, Mr. Agathonikos, visited the village of Kitisi, in the Iringa District of Central Tanzania, where he consecrated the new drinking water well in the courtyard of the Holy Church of St. Stylianos. The new well was built with a donation from the Brotherhood of the Orthodox Foreign Mission of Thessaloniki and is part of the wider offer of the Holy Metropolis of Arousa for the practical support of the local communities and the improvement of the living conditions of the residents. Access to clean and safe drinking water is one of the most basic needs for the communities of the region and the creation of this infrastructure is expected to contribute substantially to the daily life of the families of Kitisi and to the protection of their health.
The Consecration ceremony took place in an atmosphere of joy and gratitude, with the participation of the inhabitants of the villages in the area. This fact demonstrates the growing presence of Orthodoxy in this part of Tanzania, as more and more of our brothers come to the Church and are baptized Orthodox Christians.
