The account of the 5th Orthodox Monastic Synod in Lefkadatranslated

With the participation of approximately 300 delegates from 100 monasteries and the presence of approximately 20 metropolitans and other high priests, the 5th Diorthodox Monastic Synaxis was completed, held from October 13 to 15, 2026 at the Holy Monastery of Faneromeni Lefkada. As pointed out by the Abbot of the Monastery, Archimandrite Nikiforos, during the three days 23 presentations were presented on the subject of "Orthodox Monasticism and the Mission". Speaking to Lefkadatoday.gr, a few days after the conclusion of the Synod, Archimandrite Nikiforos made a first assessment of the work, referred to the speeches that stood out, in the presence of the Archbishop of Albania, Mr. Ioannis and in the conference tour of Lefkada.

As he mentioned, the Synaxis was attended by representatives of monasteries of the Church of Greece, as well as church delegations from the Patriarchate of Alexandria, the Church of Albania and Latin America.

He estimated that this year's event was the largest of the five that have been held to date.
