The PtD at the celebration of the 205th anniversary of the Fall-Liberation of Tripolitsatranslated

The President of the Republic Konstantinos A. Tasoulas attended the events organized by the Municipality of Tripoli to celebrate the 205th anniversary of the Fall - Liberation of Tripoli. Mr. Tasoulas, after the eulogy at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Vasilios Tripoli, pre-eminent of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Mantineia and Kynouria Mr. Epiphanios and the laying of wreaths at the Monument of High Priests and Procrites and at the statue of Theodoros Kolokotronis in Areos Square, made the following statement:

"The pioneer of the Fall and Liberation of Tripolitsa 205 years ago, Theodoros Kolokotronis, had said that God put his signature on the freedom of Greece and that God does not take his signature back.

Thus in the Liberation and Fall of Tripolitsa, Commander-in-Chief Theodoros Kolokotronis put his stamp on a decisive victory, achieved within the first year of the Revolution. A victory that influenced, consolidated and evolved the Greek Revolution, stimulating the spirit and psyche of the fighting revolutionaries.
