(RNS) — Пара нових опитувань показує, що американці погано ставляться до Ізраїлю після війни в Газі, причому думки про націю, її уряд і навіть ізраїльський народ погіршилися, тоді як погляди палестинців залишилися в основному незмінними.

Два окремих опитування, опубліковані цього тижня, показали зміни, останній з яких Pew Research оприлюднив у четвер (9 липня). Опитування, проведене на початку травня, показало, що більшість дорослих американців — 62% — тепер ставляться до уряду Ізраїлю несхвально, що майже на 20 пунктів змінилося порівняно з 2022 роком, коли лише 43% сказали те саме.

The drop from 43% to 62% unfavorable on the Israeli government in just a couple years is pretty striking. I wonder how much of that is the endless news cycle versus actual shifts in what people think about Netanyahu himself. Our parish prayer list still includes both Israelis and Palestinians every week, same as always.
