The Patriarch's weakness. How Saint Tikhon won the information war against the atheistic authoritiestranslated

Marina BORISOVA
“The newspaper campaign is being conducted incorrectly. Funny satirical poems against priests in general are published. This satire unites the clergy into one whole. The political task of the present moment is not at all the same, but exactly the opposite. It is necessary to split the priests, or rather to deepen and sharpen the existing split.”
This instruction of the Central Committee of the RCP (b), issued in the spring of 1922, was soon supplemented by more specific orders from Trotsky to the newspapers Izvestia, Pravda and Rabochaya Moskva, explaining what exactly they should instill in their readers every day:
“The church hierarchy, headed by Patriarch Tikhon, has transported enormous church valuables abroad over the years. These church values are used to support the rich life of the monarchist priests, to counter-revolutionary propaganda, to prepare for the monarchist restoration.”
Truly, Mikhail Bulgakov, who himself worked as a journalist for many years, was right. He honestly warned: do not read Soviet newspapers before lunch!
Of course, when for faith in Christ they are thrown to wild lions or simply put against a wall, the faint-hearted renounce or flee, and the faithful go to the cross, become martyrs-confessors, with their own blood...
